This is a unique one of a kind piece of artwork, featuring Captain James T Kirk and Science Officer Spock from 1979 Star Trek the Motion Picture. The photo is compressed under intense pressure onto a wooden background then a polyurethane coating is applied which allows for a high polished look and texture. The plaque at 40 years old still maintains a great finish and look to it and depending on lighting used, can bring out different tones and highlights, This is a must have for any serious collector of Star Trek memorabilia. Original and unique, 1 of a kind artwork piece. Large, 3 dimensional Star Trek scene which features what I believe are hand-made models, some of which are made from common household type items. Incredibly creative and stunning item. And, it has a plug on the back side, so that when plugged in, it lights up showing explosions, stars, etc. I've tried to show it when lit, but the pictures don't do it justice. From the film "Star Trek 3 The Search For Spock" released in 1984. This poster was sent to theatres to be displayed in the lobby to promote the film's engagement. The poster is folded which is the way they were sent out by the studios back then. The poster has a bit of wear but otherwise is in very good condition and measures 23x33 inches.
