Vintage 1974 STAR TREK Movieland Wax Museum 28 pages of file copy documents

28 pages of vintage file copy documents from the 1974 STAR TREK Movieland Wax Museum in Buena Park, California. The above 8 x 10 photo is the standard publicity photo for the attraction which was generated at the time and is also included here. The Movieland Wax Museum closed in 2005 after 43 years in business. I obtained these documents in the 1980s for a feature article which was never written. I recently came across these in my files.
I did some photo features on the Star Trek Movieland exhibit in my 1991 book THE 25th ANNIVERSARY OF STAR TREK. These documents all relate to the premiere of the Star Trek exhibit at the Movieland Wax Museum September 19, 1974. Preparations were very elaborate as four of the TV series stars were in attendance and these documents involve the contract negotiations for the exhibit, a press release for the event and the introductory speech given at the event as well as the introductions for the actors. There are so many pages that I only show scans of 16 of the 28 pages.

In the list below I describe them in detail and state which ones are vintage 1974 documents and which are photocopies of important file documents. All are 8 1/2 x 11 and are in excellent condition.

7 pages of these documents are vintage originals, as described below. 1 3 page original carbon typescript of the speech given at the opening of the Star Trek exhibit (first page shown above). 2 2 page original vintage 1974 press release: STAR TREK STARS HONORED AT MOVIELAND (first page shown above).

3 One page July 30, 1974 carbon typescript letter to a wax figure expert about fixing the Star Trek figures and on this letter is a hand written addition explaining that the figures need extensive reworking. 4 One page original memo dated July 8, 1974 about progress being made toward the September exhibit premiere (shown above). 5 11 page photocopy of the PROPOSAL FOR THE DESIGN OF AN AUDIO-VISUAL SYSTEM for the Star Trek and Planet of the Apes exhibit (2 pages shown above) dated March 28, 1974. 6 3 page photocopy of the cover letter and 2 page signed contract dated May 24, 1974 for the Star Trek exhibit (all 3 pages shown above).

7 One page photocopy letter dated July 6, 1974 on Star Trek fan club letterhead about the planned Star Trek Movieland exhibit (shown above). 8 4 page photocopy of the agenda and speeches planned for the September 19, 1974 Museum Star Trek day including the introduction of the four actors who attended. Three of the four pages shown below. 9 One page file photocopy of the October 9, 1974 letter from Gene Roddenberry expressing his pleasure at how the ceremony was in September, shown below. 10 2 page file photocopy press release describing what the September 19, 1974 Star Trek Movieland event was like. More than just a pretty picture. This item is in the category "Collectibles\Science Fiction & Horror\Star Trek Collectibles\Other Star Trek Collectibles".
