The announcement of a Star Trek motion picture came on the heals of the first Star Wars picture. Mego, once a trend setter with their 8" figures, copied the format of Kenner's 3 3/4" Star Wars line. While Star Trek: The Motion Picture was a financial success, it was a critical mess and the merchandising didn't do well. Only the crew were widely released in the United States - with the line doing so poorly that the Trek aliens were dumped in Canada or Italy. L & L Collectables is a small, family run business.
