Star Trek The Motion Picture (1979) Script Signed by Cast and Crew Members. This is a very rare item. It is the shooting script from "Star Trek The Motion Picture" which premiered in 1979.
The script has autographs from 11 members of the cast and crew, including Leonard Nimoy (Spock), DeForest Kelley (McCoy), Mark Lenard (the Klingon commander), James Doohan (Scotty), George Takei (Sulu), Walter Koenig (Chekov), Nichelle Nicols (Uhura), Grace Lee Whitney (Yeoman Janice Rand), Susan Sackett (Gene Roddenberry's secretary), a make-up girl Dorsey, and author Alan Dean Foster (who wrote the script with Gene Roddenberry). Alan Dean Foster wrote a special note which reads The opening is unchanged, any way.
Many of these people, like Nimoy, Kelley, Doohan, Whitney, and others are now dead, and no longing signing autographs. The others who are still alive are charging hundreds of dollars for their autographs now.
In 1979, and attended a special party at the Air & Space Museum in honor of "Star Trek" following the premiere. As a writer, I was given the press kit for the movie by Paramount Pictures with the hopes that I would write one or more articles about "Star Trek" in the local news, and Susan Sackett (who was Gene Roddenberry's secretary for many years) gave me a copy of the script, which was written by Gene Roddenberry with fellow science fiction author Alan Dean Foster.
I walked around the after-party and was able to get some of the cast and crew to sign the script; others I added over the years by attending Star Trek conventions. I only have one of these, and once it is gone, it is gone for good. Please don't hesitate to acquire this rarest of items.
