It is the press kit from "Star Trek The Motion Picture" which premiered in 1979. The kit includes a pressbook, bios of all the actors involved, behind the scenes information, press clippings from the major news outlets including Time and the New York Times... There is enough information here to write an entire book about the first Star Trek film in the series.
The press kit also includes volumes 1&2 of a special newsletter produced about Star Trek, and color inserts about pop-up books and the model of the Enterprise. There are also 6 full-color slides, 6 color 8x10 photos, 11 B&W photos, a full-color photo of the Enterprise on the cover of the press kit, plus autographs from 5 members of the cast, including Leonard Nimoy (Spock), Mark Lenard (the Klingon commander), James Doohan (Scotty), George Takei (Sulu), and Walter Koenig (Chekov); three of those cast members are dead, and clearly not signing any more. In 1979, and attended a special party at the Air & Space Museum in honor of "Star Trek" following the premiere.
